The assets of Coventry City Football Club are being put up for sale by its administrator this week.
Paul Appleton, an administrator with David Rubin & Partners, who is working on the club's insolvency, told the Coventry Telegraph that the company is inviting bids for assets while the process continues.
He added that interested parties willing to make an advance bid are being invited to buy the “rights, title or interest” in the golden share in the company.
Mr Appleton said: “Investigations could go on for a very long time. There is competing and conflicting evidence. We may have to go to court at some stage if we can't get to the bottom of it.”
There is some conflict of opinion about exactly what assets the club holds. Administrators are having to go through a lengthy process to get to the bottom of what belongs to the club. Complications have arisen due to the fact that The Coventry City Football Club Ltd, set up in 1907, later became CCFC Holdings Ltd and later incorporated Coventry City Football Club Ltd as a subsidiary in 1995. Tracking the proprietor of the various assets through the firm's numerous reshuffles and name changes is not proving to be an easy task.
Mr Appleton noted that prospective purchasers are welcome to decide what assets are being offered and make their bid while the investigations continue.
