Screensafe UK Limited, Trimega Laboratories Limited and Ingemino Testing Services Limited have all entered administration.
Paul Flint and Brian Green from KPMG’s restructuring practice were appointed joint administrators to the trio of companies – that specialise in drug, alcohol and paternity testing – on 7 April.
Screensafe, based in Stafford, provides drug and alcohol tests for the workplace. The administrators have already sold the business along with some assets to Synergy Health Laboratory Services Limited. As part of the sale, 16 members of staff were also transferred to new owner.
Trimega Laboratories, meanwhile, operated out of Blackley in Great Manchester and provided legally defensible testing to be used in decisions for child protection cases. Its tests included hair drug, alcohol and steroid testing, as well as DNA tests.
Ingemino Testing, which is also based in Blackley, was a laboratory company that provided the facilities for the aforementioned two testing companies.
A sale is being sought for the assets of Trimega Laboratories and Ingemino Testing. Trading has been stopped and 49 staff from the two companies have lost their jobs.
Paul Flint, associate partner at KPMG and joint administrator, said: “The paternity testing market has declined as a result of recent changes to the legal aid system.
“Despite marketing the Trimega Laboratories and Ingemino Testing Services business as going concerns prior to our appointment, a buyer could not be found and unfortunately, a total of 49 redundancies have been made across these two businesses in Blackley.”
