Laminate and solid flooring seller Floors-2-Go has entered administration for the third time since the onset of the credit crunch in 2008.
Mark Bowen of MB Insolvency was brought in as the administrator to Nixon & Hope Ltd, which trades as Floors-2-Go, on 4 July 2014. He has not yet made a comment on the situation.
Nixon & Hope was created by Floor-2-Go bosses David Vizor and Parjinder Sangha in August 2011 to purchase 35 of the retailer’s 53 stores, saving 162 jobs, in a rescue from its second stint in administration.
Two descendants of the family that established the business in 1999, Robert and Richard Hodges, also joined Nixon & Hope in late 2012 as directors.
The sole account filing for Nixon & Hope shows that it made profits exceeding £130,000 on revenues of £30 million, for the period dating August 2011 to 31 January 2013.
The Coventry Telegraph says the Coventry store was shut yesterday – 21 July 2014 – with a note on the door with a telephone number. A customer reported that they found the line to be constantly engaged however.
The retailer offers a range of walnut, beech, oak and maple wood flooring along with laminate flooring and related accessories such as underlay and rugs.
Its website now indicates that F2G Retail Sales Ltd is its parent company. Set up in May 2014, it is unclear whether it intends to rescue the assets of the flooring business.
