Hotels Solutions London Ltd and Totally Clean Solution Ltd have entered administration, with partners from FRP Advisory LLP appointed as administrators.
The cleaning and outsourcing businesses, headquartered in Wembley, Middlesex, offer housekeeping, front of house and catering services to hotels and shops around the country, employing around 1,400 staff.
Tax debts appear to have been a major factor in the administration, with the firms accruing HMRC debt in the region of £2 million.
Jason Baker, joint administrator, commented: “The businesses had incurred losses and accumulated substantial arrears with HMRC and with other creditors.
“The situation is regrettable, but we very much hope to find a purchaser for the businesses as going concerns to provide continuity of service to the companies’ clients and help secure a future for the employees. We plan to fulfil the payroll that is due this week to staff at the two companies.”
At the moment, the administrators are not anticipating redundancies and are aiming to meet the employees' pay contracts. In the long term, the hope is that the businesses can be sold as going concerns after the administrators have tied up the loose ends at the companies.
