Dock Solutions, a Gloucestershire-based manufacturer of loading bay equipment, is planning further M&A deals and national expansion after completing a strategic refinance. Founded more than 20 years ago, the Cinderford-based company has established itself as the UK’s largest loading bay equipment manufacturer.
The company delivers products including scissor lifts, industrial doors, bespoke dock levellers, dock shelters and maintenance packages for trade and end users.
The refinance continues a period of transformation for the business, which underwent a management buyout (MBO) in 2023. The MBO saw Joshua Hale, who joined the company as an apprentice in 2016, take over ownership of the firm.
A few months later, Hale led Dock Solutions’ acquisition of Loading Bay Lifts, with the deal enhancing the company’s offering and boosting its position within the loading bay industry. The acquisition of the Buckinghamshire-based scissor lift specialist brought the group complementary expertise and an enhanced product range.
As with the MBO and the acquisition of Loading Bay Lifts, the strategic finance was advised on by GS Verde Group. The transaction provides Dock Solutions with greater financial firepower as it actively seeks acquisition opportunities across the UK’s manufacturing, logistics and service-based sectors.
Through its strategic expansion, the company is aiming to further scale up its operations and diversify its capabilities.
Joshua Hale commented: “We’re proud to uphold a ‘British by design’ ethos in everything we create, and the refinance means we can now take that even further, growing the business, acquiring complementary capabilities, and expanding our footprint across the UK.”
Joel Dunning, director at GS Verde Group, said: “With the refinance now complete, Dock Solutions is well-positioned for further expansion, and we’re excited to help identify the next opportunity.”
