PP Control & Automation (PP C&A), a West Midlands-based manufacturer backed by private equity firm Ardenton Capital, has appointed a new CEO to lead its global expansion plans, which include the potential for acquisitions.
Pinaki Banerjee has been appointed Chief Executive of the company, with former CEO Tony Hague stepping down to assume a commercial and customer-focused role within the firm, in a move that forms part of the company’s long-term succession plan.
PP C&A designs and manufactures electrical and electronic control systems and assemblies, cable harnesses and manufacturing solutions from a state-of-the-art facility in the West Midlands.
The company helps to build machines that are used across a wide variety of processes, including machines that robotically milk cows, cut parts for F1 cars and airlines and provide packaging services.
The appointment of Pinaki Banerjee (pictured above, right, with Tony Hague) comes at a time when PP C&A has the possibility to expand its manufacturing footprint into Central Europe and North America through strategic M&A. According to the company, this would provide it with the potential to double its revenue to more than £70 million.
Banerjee, who previously served as Chief Executive of the Central Eastern Europe region of Rubix, said that the company was “at an exciting stage of its development” and that, under the leadership of Tony Hague, it had established itself as “a world-class manufacturing specialist, working with some of the biggest global machinery builders.”
Banerjee continued: "The foundations are set and our reputation in the UK and parts of North America is strong. Our opportunity now is to take this strategic manufacturing service offer to new markets and Central Europe is definitely the first territory in our sights."
"In order to gain market share there, you have to boost your own manufacturing footprint, and we believe the best way to do this is through acquisition. If we can find the right domestic company that shares our values and brings a new engineering discipline into the mix, then that would be utopia. This isn't a pipedream; this is the target within the first 12 months.
"That's why my skills in M&A activity and global operations - honed through many decades and across different markets - will be crucial."
Pointing out that consolidation was occurring “all around us” and that accelerating digital transformation would only drive further M&A, Banerjee added that PP C&A was in a strong position to grow both organically and through acquisitions, firstly in Central Europe and then in North America.
Automation is not only transforming manufacturing processes, but driving widespread M&A activity
This is a unique opportunity to acquire a well-established manufacturer in the building and home improvement sector.
A well-established business in Gwynedd specialising in the manufacture and supply of slate and stone products, as well as bathroom and kitchen installations, is now available for acquisition.
This timber garden supplies manufacturing business boasts an exceptional reputation and offers significant growth potential, primarily operating through online sales platforms.
