A country house hotel in Royal Wootton Bassett has gone on the market after its operator entered administration.
Marsh Farm Hotel is up for sale for a guide price of £1.5 million. The search for a buyer is being handled by Savills on behalf of Moorfields Corporate Recovery.
Moorfields were appointed as administrators for the hotel’s operator Oyster Hotels Ltd earlier this year in February. Since then, the hotel has continued trading while a new buyer was sought with the help of Convivial Group.
At the time of the operator entering administration, joint administrator Arron Kendall explained: “The hotel sector is continuing to show strong signs of growth and Marsh Farm Hotel has a good range of facilities and benefits from a desirable location. We believe it provides a good opportunity for potential purchasers.”
The grade II listed country house has 48 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, conference facilities and a beauty salon and is a popular venue for weddings and other functions.
Gary Witham, hotels director at Savills, said: “This is an excellent opportunity to invest in an attractive hotel business which is also an established wedding and function venue, offering multiple income streams for potential owners.”
