A craft business in Cumbria is up for sale as its owners seek to take retirement.
Winged Heart was established in 1995 by Drew Landsborough and his wife Mara Eagle in the Old Brewery at Craw Hall, Brampton.
It manufactures stained-glass giftware, which can be found in prestigious gift shops around the country, including Canterbury and St Paul's Cathedrals, Westminster Abbey, the British Museum and even Notre Dame in Paris.
Speaking to the North West Evening Mail, Ms Eagle said: “We want to retire – Drew is 70 this year – and we want the business to continue to safeguard the jobs of our staff. We are a family firm and our staff are important to us.
“The sale might not happen this year, it might not happen next year, but everybody has to retire at some point.”
The business is proving successful and in the last financial year it has recorded a turnover of £500,000 and seen sales rise by 15 per cent in the current year. Export trade to the US and Europe in particular is thought to have driven the boost in revenue.
