UK facilities management firm Servest has acquired Scottish pest control specialist Pro-Check Environmental Services (Northern) Limited as it steps into the growing pest control market.
Dundee-based Pro-Check offers pest control, cleaning, hygiene services and environmental solutions.
Operating mainly throughout Scotland, Pro-Check offered “significant geographical growth potential” due to its close proximity to England and the rest of the UK, deal advisors KBS Corporate said.
The growing pest control market was also a “key value driver” of the firm, it added.
For the year to September 30 2015, Servest, which employs 23,000 people across the UK and offers a range of facilities management services, posted revenues of £239.5 million, up from £215 million a year earlier.
KBS’s Sonia Cottrell said: “Throughout the sale, KBS Corporate developed a good relationship with the exiting shareholder of Pro-Check.
“The acquisition of Pro-Check is a great fit for Servest, as both companies share combined values and operate within the same sector, and offer the opportunity for expansion within the market.”
