A fine-dining restaurant and bar located in Haughton, Stafford has been put up on the market for sale with a guide price of £1.5 million.
The Shropshire Inn is being marketed by Blacks Business Brokers, instated by proprietors Stuart and Janet Blackley who have owned the restaurant since 2010.
Boasting 18 members of staff, including five chefs, and an AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence for two consecutive years in 2015/16 and 2016/17, the Shropshire Inn’s most recent financial records show a turnover of £460,000 and gross profits of more than £260,000.
The property itself is a large, detached roadside building with capacity for 90 seats in the restaurant, a lounge bar, and a recently refurbished catering kitchen. The building also comes with an adjoining four-bedroom accommodation for the new owners, and a carpark for 45 vehicles.
The sale also includes a large field, roughly three-quarters of an acre, at the end of the restaurant.
Director at Blacks Business Brokers, Joanne Booth, who is also leading the sale of the business and property, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to buy a well-established fine dining restaurant with a great team in-situ and an excellent reputation.
“Its idyllic rural location belies the fact that it’s actually only a short drive from the centre of Stafford, and within easy reach of a very large catchment.
“There is a real opportunity here to build on the foundations laid by Mr and Mrs Blackley, particularly by expanding the Shropshire’s foothold in the weddings market.”
Expressions of interest from potential buyers are welcomed by the brokers.
