HSL Compliance has acquired Plexus Innovation, a Durham-based company that provides digital transformation services for the facilities and energy management sectors. The company utilises internet of things (IoT) technology to build clients bespoke remote monitoring technology.
The acquisition, HSL’s fourth in the space of 18 months, will enhance the firm’s water safety services, with Plexus’ technology enabling HSL to accurately and remotely monitor client’s water assets, alert them to issues as they occur and allow its engineers to take targeted action to resolve problems.
HSL Compliance Chief Executive Gavin Hartley said that Plexus’ team, led by co-founder and managing director Steve Todd, “have developed a market-leading remote monitoring solution that will help us to stay at the forefront of technological innovation within the water safety industry.”
Hartley continued: "With Plexus Innovation in the HSL family, we can continue to offer the best solutions to our clients who have entrusted HSL with the safety of their staff and customers."
Steve Todd added that the combination of Plexus’ technology with “the requirements of HSL’s customers” would help to accelerate the company’s growth. Following the acquisition, Kelvin Belben has been appointed Plexus Innovation director and will continue to lead the company’s sales and marketing operations.
HSL Compliance is headquartered in Herefordshire and helps clients to remain compliant with health and safety legislation. The company provides water safety services, such as water treatment and Legionella compliance, as well as supporting clients with a range of other building safety requirements, such as hazardous materials safety, fire safety and other environmental health and safety services.
Over the past 18 months, the company has completed the acquisitions of Jordan Environmental, DMA Canyon and Chemical Treatment Services.
