The historic country house hotel Bodidris Hall in Llandegla near Wrexham, has been sold following the administration of its former owner, Llangollen Hotels Ltd and its parent company, Global Investments Group.
The 15th Century hotel, which comprises nine bedrooms and seven acres of landscaped gardens, was being marketed through Colliers International on behalf of administrators KPMG.
When the hotel was first put onto the market earlier this year, along with four other hotels from the Llangollen Hotels Ltd's portfolio, associate director of hotels at Colliers International’s Manchester office, Neil Thomson, told The Leader, “This is a great opportunity for a hotelier or investor to acquire these hotels of supreme character which are trading well.
Now, a private investor is reported to have acquired Bodidris Hall – which also includes a function room with a capacity for 70 people and a dining room with a 26-person capacity. The new owner plans to continue using the hotel for the same purpose.
Mr Thompson told Place North West, “We marketed the four hotels for a relatively short period of time and generated a huge amount of interest in each of the properties.
“The sales process clearly demonstrates that there's a strong market for sustainable and profitable businesses which are realistically priced in the market place, and which will still attract bank funding despite the present difficult economic climate,” he added.
