M Group Services has acquired wireless telecom infrastructure services firm Waldon Telecom. The acquisition, M Group’s thirteenth since December 2016, comes amid a time of thriving M&A in the telecoms sector. Through the acquisition, M Group hopes to enhance its mobile offering, while simultaneously tapping into the ongoing rollout of 5G technology.
Waldon has locations in Surrey and Derby and provides infrastructure services including acquisition, design and construction to the mobile telecom market. The company says that the takeover by M Group will help it leverage wider services and drive future growth.
Following the acquisition, Waldon Telecom will continue to operate under its own brand, with Managing Director and co-founder Phil James remaining in charge of the business.
Discussing the acquisition, M Group CEO Jim Arnold said: “We are delighted to expand our Telecom Division with the acquisition of Waldon Telecom, a business with considerable growth potential and a strong reputation. Our strategy is to combine Waldon Telecoms ADC skills with Magdalene’s mobile technology services and provide mobile clients with end-to-end solutions.”
Waldon Telecom MD Phil James added: "With Waldon’s existing telecom acquisition, design and construction capability, becoming part of M Group Services’ telecom division will allow us to leverage wider services that can be offered by the group across multiple sectors. This will support our growth aspirations and allow Waldon Telecom to become a large scale, turnkey partner of choice within the mobile telecom market."
