A popular country house hotel and wedding venue located near Diss in Norfolk has been put onto the market.
The 15th century, listed Gissing Hall – which features in tonight's episode of Channel 4's Country House Rescue – comprises 20 en-suite bedrooms, five acres of landscaped grounds and a separate owner’s house.
The hotel – which has been put onto the market by owners William and Ann Brennan – has a price tag of £1.5 million and is being marketed for sale through property agents Chesterton Humberts.
The Brennans told EDP24.com that they had owned the hotel for 25 years, but were now planning their retirement and felt that it was time to move on.
“We are trying to sell. [Country House Rescue's] Ruth Watson advised us that it was a hopeless location for a hotel and that we concentrate on the weddings.
“We are almost 70 and we are getting on. A year and a half ago we had plenty of enthusiasm, but recently it has got more difficult,” said Mr Brennan.
Mr Brennan went on to say that all bookings would be honoured by the hotel.
