Henry Adams, a leading South West estate agency group, has acquired West Sussex firm Hawkins & Smith. The deal comes as East Wittering-based Henry Adams seeks to extend its coverage across West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire through acquisitions, joint ventures and franchise opportunities.
Hawkins & Smith was founded in 2011 by Chris and Sally Smith, who have extensive experience in estate agency. Following the acquisition by Henry Adams, Chris and Sally will continue to serve as consultants to the business.
Henry Adams Chief Executive Ian Wiggett commented: “We are delighted to be expanding our services here with Hawkins & Smith joining Henry Adams. With experienced staff who live locally and the extensive marketing of Henry Adams, we provide an unrivalled service for homeowners in both East and West Wittering.”
“By combining forces with our new colleagues from Hawkins & Smith, we’re proud to be the number one choice for sellers in the area.”
Wiggett said that the company was “actively seeking more independent property companies looking for their next steps, whether through acquisition, joint venture or franchising options.”
He continued that the company is keen to expand its footprint and provide a greater number of buyers and sellers “with a range of dedicated property services.”
He added: "Each opportunity to join the Henry Adams stable is carefully reviewed and discussed so that the outcome is positive for owners of each company and of course, staff and clients.”
Discussing the firm’s acquisition plans last month, Wiggett said that Henry Adams was “open to discussing different options and tailoring the best solutions” for owners, whether they are seeking to exit their business entirely, retire or continue to grow with the backing of a wider group.
