Two dairy farms in Pembrokeshire, Wales, with over 1,000 acres of grassland are for sale with a combined price tag of £10 million.
The pair are owned by Frederick Hiam Ltd, and are being sold separately as part of a restructuring of the company, which also has other farming and vegetable packing operations mainly in East Anglia.
Broadmoor Farm, the larger of the two with a guide price of £6.2m, has about 800 acres of Grade 2 land with some Grade 3, and includes five houses. Operations could expand with further investment, and planning consent has been given for an additional shed and slurry store for 400 cows, but will expire in March 2018.
Savills are marketing for the sale of the farm, and say that interest has already been piqued. Richard Binning, partner at Savills told Farmers Weekly: “Word of the sale is already out locally and so we have interest, but it will be interesting to see what comes in from further afield.
“We have a couple of buyers with rollover funds who are keen, so the early signs are good.”
Corston Farm has 483 acres of grade 3 land, and is for sale for £3.8 million. It has a range of modern outbuildings that includes housing for 300 cows, an underground slurry system. It also has two cottages and two bungalows.
