Linear Precision Engineers, a Surrey-based machining services firm, has been acquired by Essex-based supply chain and engineering partner UKC Group. The deal was led by KBS Corporate deal executive Luke Rae.
Linear, which was founded in 1987 and is based in West Byfleet, has developed a reputation for high-quality metal and plastic CNC machining. The company has established a number of long-standing client relationships in sectors such as architecture, defence and aerospace.
Following the acquisition, the company will continue to operate under its existing brand in order to maintain continuity, while benefitting from the improved support and investment provided by joining the larger group.
Linear Precision Engineers Managing Director Andy Allan commented: "Joining UKC Group is a fantastic opportunity for Linear. We share a strong culture of quality and innovation, and I’m confident this partnership will provide new avenues for Linear’s growth while preserving the values that have driven our success for over 30 years.”
UKC Group specialises in supply chain and engineering within the aviation and marine industries, with a stock inventory of 114 million parts. The acquisition of Linear is described as aligning with the company's long-term strategy of building a group of specialised engineering and manufacturing companies.
The group is seeking to bring together businesses with capabilities spanning the full life cycle of products, including design, prototyping, production and assembly.
UKC Group Managing Director Imran Khan said that Linear’s “technical expertise and long-standing relationships in aerospace and defence perfectly complement our strategic vision.”
He continued: "This acquisition enables us to broaden our offering, scale our operations and better serve our customers with world-class engineering solutions.”
