A pharmacy in Leeds has been acquired by an expanding operator, following a competitive bidding process handled by property consultancy Christie & Co. Seacroft Pharmacy, a standard-hour community pharmacy, is situated on Leeds’ A64/York Road, one of the main arterial routes into the city centre.
Owned by Pharm-Assist (Healthcare) Ltd since 2008, Seacroft Pharmacy is located in a two-storey retail unit. The pharmacy dispenses, on average, 5,761 items per month and is situated just 100 yards away from a large medical practice.
The pharmacy was brought to market after Pharm-Assist (Healthcare) Limited conducted a strategic review of its portfolio, subsequently engaging Tom Young and Jon Booth of Christie & Co to broker a deal through a confidential sale process.
Pharm-Assist (Healthcare) director Ashley Cohen said that Seacroft Pharmacy was identified as “the right site to dispose of to allow us to focus our attention on other aspects of the business.”
The pharmacy has now been acquired by expanding West Yorkshire operator Jeet Vadodaria for an undisclosed sum, with funding sourced through Alena Ray at Christie Finance. The pharmacy is Vadodaria’s third and is a joint venture alongside first-time buyer Mohammad Khabib Ali.
Discussing the sale process, Tom Young, Christie & Co Senior Business Agent - Pharmacy, said that there was “a competitive bidding process with five offers at or above the guide price, showcasing the demand for pharmacy opportunities in Yorkshire.”
Jeet Vadodaria said: "We were attracted to this pharmacy due to the strong reputation Ashley has built over a number of years, and felt it would be a great addition to our portfolio.”
"We have just opened a new hub in West Yorkshire, and this pharmacy will make a great ‘spoke’. We plan to service some items via the hub to free up more time for our staff at Seacroft Pharmacy to engage with patients and improve the service offering."
