Warrington-headquartered infrastructure, construction and property services firm United Living Group has further bolstered its capabilities in the power sector with the acquisition of a power distribution specialist.
The group has acquired Hemel Hempstead-based power services provider Glenelly Infrastructure Solutions. The deal is United Living’s second strategic acquisition in the power infrastructure market, following its March 2025 takeover of Jones.
Glenelly Infrastructure Solutions, which was founded in 2016, plays a crucial role supporting the UK’s transition to a low-carbon economy. The company works with distribution network operators (DNOs), enabling critical technologies including heat pump installations and electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities.
It provides services including cable laying and power connection services, as well as operating a recruitment business that supplies staff to the construction, power generation, connections, transmission and distribution sectors.
United Living Group Chairman and Chief Executive Neil Armstrong said that the acquisition complement’s the group’s “existing geographical footprint, giving us a strong presence across the North West, Yorkshire, London, the South East, and Scotland.”
As a result of this expanded footprint, Armstrong says, the group is positioned "to better serve customers and support the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future.”
He continued: "This acquisition reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in the UK’s critical utility infrastructure. It builds on our strategic growth across the energy and utilities sector and enhances our capacity to deliver resilient, high-quality services that meet the evolving needs of the market."
Sean Conway, managing director at Glenelly Infrastructure Solutions, added: "Joining United Living is an exciting new chapter for Glenelly. We share a strong alignment in values, particularly around quality, safety, and skills development.”
“As part of United Living, we are well-positioned to expand our offering, support the UK's energy transition, and continue delivering the exceptional service our clients rely on."
