The sale of the Lindsey Lower School in Grimsby is coming to a close with the marketing company suggesting that the property could be off the market by the end of the month.
Located on Clee Road, the property sits in 3.5 acres and has been on the market with a guide price of between £750,000 and £1 million, reflecting its position and history.
It hasn't been operational as a school since 2007, but the unusual building could make it an interesting purchase. However, potential buyers are likely to find themselves facing quite a bit of interest in the closing weeks of the sale.
It is hoped that any developers and buyers will make use of the existing structure when purchasing the school. Lawrence Brown, a partner at agents Scotts, told the Grimsby Telegraph on the initial sale: “Potentially the building could be used for a hotel, a nursing home, training centre or offices – or it could be suitable for conversion into residential flats.
"I know the council would prefer it if the existing structure remained but, if a suitable alternative was put forward, it would be considered, though of course it would be subject to planning permission."
