Historic North Yorkshire restaurant up for sale

Thu, 22 Jun 2017 | COMMERCIAL PROPERTY

A Michelin-starred restaurant in North Yorkshire is up for sale for the princely sum of £1.75m.

The impressive Yorke Arms in Ramsgill-in-Nidderdale, Pateley Bridge, is renowned for its prestigious kitchen, operated by award-winning chef Frances Atkins, one of only a handful of female Michelin chefs in the UK.

"The characterful hotel offers customers a peaceful escape with countryside views, while the restaurant enables an experienced operator to take on a business with an established customer base and excellent reputation" said Alistair Greenhalgh of commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton.

“The business draws trade from all over the UK in addition to regular, local custom. Its high profile reputation will no doubt generate interest from a wide range of purchasers.”

He added that the historic establishment had undergone "tasteful renovations and refurbishments" over the years in its two dining rooms, reception area, bar, lounge and snug.

The estate is located on the village green of Ramsgill and was originally the site of a monastic cheesery. The 18th century coaching house set in extensive gardens now serves as a 16 bedroom hotel, including four courtyard apartments as well as the restaurant.
