Thu, 12 Jun 2025 | DIVISION SALE
Fletchers Group, a Southport-based law firm, has completed the latest in a series of acquisitions with a deal for the clinical negligence division of boutique practice Sheldon Davidson Solicitors (SDS).
Fletchers’ growth strategy focuses on targeted acquisitions, with recent transactions including a January deal for 97 fee-earners at Scott & Rees Solicitors.
The deal for the clinical negligence division of SDS will see all clinical negligence cases transition to Fletchers over the coming weeks, along with two members of the team. The remainder of the SDS business is not included in the transaction and will continue to operate independently.
Charlene Mann, Fletchers Group Managing Director of New Acquisitions, commented: “It’s great to welcome Sheldon Davidson Solicitors’ clinical negligence clients and colleagues.”
“This acquisition reinforces our strategy to grow by partnering with like-minded practices that complement our own – always putting client service and legal expertise at the forefront of everything we do.”
“This latest development underlines our position as the UK’s leading clinical negligence practice and reinforces our ambition to continue setting the highest standards in the sector.”
Fletchers Group was founded in 1987 and, in 2021, was acquired by an affiliate of private equity firm Sun European Partners. The company has offices in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Bolton and Cambridge and specialises in clinical negligence and personal injury.
Fletchers Group has seen significant growth over recent years as it takes advantage of fragmentation in the UK’s legal sector. In the year ending April 30 2024, the company reported revenues of £58 million, up 36 per cent from the previous year, while pre-tax profits totalled £8.26 million, approximately four times higher than the year prior.
Following its recent acquisitions, the group is expecting to hit revenues of £100 million this year.
