The management team at an IT company based in Hampshire that provides technical support for the NHS 111 helpline has completed a successful buyout.
The MBO comes as Amicus ITS continues to grow into one of the country’s leading providers of IT services for the likes of the NHS, Volvo, Estée Lauder, Ageas and others.
The senior-level management team was led in its buyout of Amicus from parent company Care UK by managing director Steve Jackson.
Mr Jackson said: “We have a very clear vision for the company’s strategic growth and expansion over the next five years and beyond and the business has never been in a better shape to realise these ambitions.
“The MBO gives us further flexibility to design new and exciting IT managed services tailored to our corporate and healthcare clients’ needs, as we keep at the forefront of new and emerging technologies.”
Amicus recently became an official Crown Commercial Services provider, recognised as an integral part of the central government, local councils and NHS trusts.
The company also launched it ‘Cloud First’ service, which offers a comprehensive IT support service specifically aimed at SMEs. Amicus is also developing methods to combat cyber attacks.
The expanding IT services provider continues to go from strength to strength, has an annual turnover of around £13 million and currently employs more than 100 staff.
Les Keen, sales director at Amicus ITS, said: “We have plans to increase the workforce by between five and ten per cent in the next year, and I anticipate more new jobs than that.”
