Accord Tax and Accountancy and Infinity Partnership have announced a merger for their accountancy services.
The two Aberdeen-based companies have a combined client base of more than 1,000 post-merger and are looking at operating a business with a turnover of £2 million.
Accord and Infinity will both continue to operate under their own names but have agreed to merge operations to Infinity's Albert Street offices where they will operate with nine members of staff, with discussions already underway to hire a further three people.
Tax director of Accord, John Atkinson, commented: “Merging with Infinity Partnership creates a huge opportunity for both the business and our clients. We’ve built our reputation on high quality service and this can only be enhanced going forward. I am looking forward to heading up and building the tax team.”
Simon Cowie, founder and managing director of Infinity, which is a finalist in the 2015 Scottish Accountancy Awards, added that the merger will be “ideal” for both Infinity and its clients. He added: “Accord has an international client base and has a strong reputation for its tax advisory and compliance specialisms, while we bring strong business advisory skills to the table, in particular in the mergers and acquisitions arena.”
