A pair of consultancy firms in the UK property sector have merged in a deal they say will create a “powerhouse with significant expertise and efficiency” in the industry. The deal sees real estate consultancy Naismiths and construction and property consultancy Edmond Shipway form a new strategic partnership.
Naismiths, which was founded in 1963, is a 50-strong firm providing real estate consultancy nationally, supported by a network of offices across eight UK cities. Edmond Shipway has been operating in the construction industry for 60 years, with expertise ranging across various sectors, including residential, commercial, leisure, education and healthcare.
The combined group will be led by Naismiths’ Ben Harwood as Chief Executive. The merger aims to elevate the capabilities of both firms, providing enhanced services to clients and a significantly greater talent pool.
Ben Harwood said that the collaboration would present “endless possibilities”. He continued: "By joining forces, Edmond Shipway and Naismiths will be better equipped to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the industry. By combining our strengths, we are creating a powerhouse with significant expertise and efficiency."
David Stevenson, director at Edmond Shipway, added: "Bringing together the two companies represents more than just a combination of resources; it embodies a strategic alliance aimed at forging a stronger, wider and more capable service offering for our clients. As we unite our expertise, cultures, and visions, we embark on an exciting journey of accelerated growth and innovation.”
"We anticipate the alliance will herald new opportunities for our employees, clients, and stakeholders alike, fostering a dynamic environment against the backdrop of our existing commitment to delivering exceptional project outcomes for our clients."
