Welshpool Printing Group Ltd has merged with NRG Direct Mail in a deal that will mean all staff at both facilities will retain their jobs. Bosses have said that they hope to take on more staff as the business grows.
Welshpool Printing Group (WPG) has been situated in Welshpool since 1960 and employs a workforce of 49 staff members. NRG Direct Mail is based at Battlefield Enterprise Park in Shrewsbury and employs eight members of staff. Established a decade ago, the firm offers printing, packaging and posting services as well as managing direct mail marketing campaigns for its customers.
The two firms have been working with each other for a number of years, and Welshpool Printing Group director Paul Jones said the merger made “perfect sense”, reported the Shropshire Star.
He added: “The companies will continue trading as separate entities but because we both have a UK-wide client base, including many mutual customers, we see great potential to expand the merged businesses.
“It was a natural progression for WPG because a lot of our print jobs get delivered to mailing houses. Now we have brought the services together to extend our offer to customers. We aim to capitalise on the quality staff and great knowledge that we have within the companies. The ultimate goal is to grow our joint turnover over the next five years, creating new employment opportunities along the way.”
