The five-star Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath has been put up for sale following the administration of its parent company, von Essen.
The luxury hotel, along with three others located in the Bath area, were officially put onto the market over the weekend by agent Christie + Co. The famous Royal Crescent Hotel comprises 45 bedrooms and was one of Peasedown, St John-based von Essen's top commercial interests.
The total portfolio of 26 hotels belonging to the hotel chain has been valued at a collective £200 million and has been split for sale into three groups - country hotels, classic hotels and luxury family hotels.
Christie + Co has confirmed that the hotels are available for purchase either as an entire collection or 'in parts'. Amongst the other hotels up for sale are the Woolley Grange at Bradford on Avon, Homewood Park at Hinton Charterhouse and Ston Easton Park. Christie + Co has reported that it expects one or two of the 26 hotels to be sold off individually.
Managing director of Christie + Co, Chris Day, told This is Bath, “This collection of fine country house hotels offers a unique opportunity as a whole group or in parts to be added to similar hotel estates. Given the history and international reputation of these hotels we anticipate considerable interest from potential buyers who have already been in contact to try and secure some or all of this famous collection of hotels,” he said.
In a prime location, this freehold business opportunity includes a detached, well-equipped bakery factory along with a retail outlet and cafe, all part of a family business with a century of trading history.
Established in key industries like power generation and rail, this company offers specialised electrical and engineering services across the UK and Ireland, boasting strong relationships with blue-chip clients and a reliable income stream.
This well-established company has a decade-long track record in a growing market and is fully relocatable or can be operated remotely, providing flexibility for the new owner.
