UK business communications provider Focus Group has expanded into Cornwall with the acquisition of telecoms and IT specialist Datasharp. The acquisition bolsters Focus Group’s existing presence in the South West of England, alongside its regional teams in Exeter and Bristol.
Datasharp, which was founded in 1984 – making it the oldest firm acquired so far by Focus Group, will sit alongside the group’s existing South West teams and will seek to tap into new markets, as well as serving its existing customer base.
Following the acquisition, Focus Group will also aim to introduce its full suite of services to Datasharp customers, including mobile and cybersecurity offerings. The company said that the acquisition “reinforces Focus Group’s commitment to UK-wide growth and continued innovation in the business technology sector.”
Announcing the acquisition, the group said that it had decided to acquire Datasharp due to a range of factors, including the company’s customer-centric approach, loyal base, team and its “reputation built on trust and reliability”.
Brian Lodge, Regional Director at Focus Group, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Datasharp into the Focus Group family. Their longstanding presence in the industry and loyal customer base makes them an invaluable addition to our group.”
“This acquisition presents exciting opportunities for us to leverage our combined expertise, expand our service offerings, and drive continued success – particularly in the Southwest. Most importantly, the Datasharp people, capabilities and culture are an exceptional fit with our team."
Jane Cockcroft, Managing Director at Datasharp, added: “It's rare to find a company like Focus Group that can match our dedication to customers and their business technology. This partnership brings together Datasharp’s deep expertise and incredible team with Focus Group’s resources, size, brand and energy.”
