Derbyshire-based Motus Vehicle Solutions has revved up its expansion drive by buying Aftercare Response, an autonomous division of the Bevan Group.
West Midlands based Aftercare Response, founded in 2003 as Bevan Aftercare, provides services such as breakdown assistance, tail lift maintenance and emergency repairs. It helps minimise commercial vehicle downtime – essentially getting trucks back on the road – particularly important for haulage and logistics firms in times of economic volatility and higher prices for new vehicles.
Aftercare Response employs over 65 engineers and service vans and in the past 12 months has attended more than 13,000 breakdowns and completed 31,000 defect jobs. It has a turnover of £10.4 million according to its most recent results for the year ending December 31, 2023. In that report it said that it expected sales to grow more during 2024 thanks to a strong order book.
The acquisition is part of the broader expansion of Motus Vehicle Solutions and adds to its existing lineup of services that already include vehicle conversions, fleet maintenance, tail lift solutions, parts supply, and custom truck body building.
Aftercare Response's existing team and services will remain in place following the deal.
Peter Glover, managing director of Motus Vehicle Solutions, said: “We are delighted to welcome Aftercare Response into the Motus Vehicle Solutions family. Their expertise in rapid response services and customer support aligns perfectly with our mission to provide the best possible service to our customers.”
He added that the plan going forward for Aftercare Response was to build on its market position by further strengthening its operations and ‘ensuring they benefit from the resources of the wider group’. He added: “This acquisition not only broadens our service capabilities but also ensures customers experience improved efficiency and reduced downtime across their fleets.”
Motus Vehicle Solutions is part of the Motus Group (UK) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motus Holdings Ltd, a South African company centred on the automotive sector and founded initially as a single car dealership in 1948.
