A full-service accountancy and advisory firm based in Worcestershire has expanded with the acquisition of a Cannock-based counterpart. Hayward Wright’s acquisition of Ansell Munden expands its team to 33, while increasing its geographic presence across the West Midlands, including Staffordshire.
The deal will see all of Ansell Munden’s members of staff transfer to Hayward Wright, along with Managing Director Paul Moore, and operating under the Hayward Wright brand, with the buyer retaining Ansell Munden’s existing offices in Cannock. Following the acquisition, Paul Moore will join Hayward Wright’s senior leadership team.
Announcing the acquisition, Hayward Wright said that uniting the firms would broaden the range of services that can be delivered to existing and new clients, while giving Ansell Munden’s clients access to an expanded team of accountancy and advisory professionals.
The deal is expected to expand Hayward Wright’s capabilities in areas including not-for-profit and interim finance director support, as well as its collective recovery and restructuring offering.
Hayward Wright Managing Director Alistair Hayward-Wright (pictured above, left, with Paul Moore) said that bringing the two firms together under one brand would provide benefits for clients through a “greater breadth of service”, while enabling the firm to continue to develop its accountancy and advisory offering to both small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and owner-managed businesses.
Hayward-Wright added: "The acquisition reflects our desire to continue to grow across the Midlands region where we see significant opportunity to offer advisory support to businesses and individuals that go beyond the traditional accountancy firm model."
Paul Moore said that Ansell Munden was joining Hayward Wright at “an exciting time” and that his company’s existing clients “will see a significant benefit in both firms coming together as we join a larger, full-service accountancy team, and it will see us offering additional value to those existing clients of Hayward Wright.”
He continued: "I have known Alistair and his firm for many years and there has always been a strong alignment in our values and client-centric approach to the work we do so the fit was perfect."
