The Citation Group, a global health and safety compliance specialist, has completed the acquisition of specialist health and care sector e-learning provider Careskills Academy. The deal is the second acquisition the company has completed in the healthcare industry within the last six months, following its September 2023 acquisition of QuiqSolutions.
London-based Careskills Academy was founded in 2014 and offers 95 CPD-accredited and mandatory courses, tailored to specialist care, which it provides for more than 3,000 clients. It was among the first UK e-learning firms to be endorsed by Skills for Care and the Citation Group said the acquisition complements its existing products and services, including ISO certification, enhanced DBS checks and Care Pro.
The Citation Group’s Group CEO Chris Morris commented: "The health and care sector is a pivotal and growing industry in the UK, but its unique challenges mean there's no one-size-fits-all solution for the businesses within it - they need a range of specialist software products and services to achieve success.”

Matt Stacey, Managing Director of The Citation Group’s Impact Division said the expertise of Careskills Academy’s team would “enrich our e-learning solutions, empowering our clients to concentrate on their core mission while we take care of the rest.”
Careskills Academy Managing Director Ari Christou added that the acquisition “will allow us to significantly invest in our content and our people”.
Wilmslow-based Citation, which is backed by KKR and Hg Capital, completed five acquisitions last year, which brought its total number of acquisitions up to 10 since the beginning of 2022.
