Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG), a Castleford-based provider of specialist services to the construction and facilities management sectors, has acquired electrical compliance and safety testing firm UK Safety Management (UKSM).
Leeds-based UKSM offers a range of electrical compliance and safety testing services, including fixed wire testing, portable appliance testing (PAT), emergency lighting inspections and fire extinguisher maintenance.
The deal is intended as a complementary addition to PTSG’s Electrical Services business. PTSG Electrical Services Ltd now comprises UKSM, PTSG Electrical Testing, Guardian Electrical Compliance, Electrical Compliance and Safety, as well as the group’s Lightning Protection business.
In the 18 months to September 30 2023, PTSG Electrical Services reported revenue of £37.1 million, compared to approximately £22 million in the year to April 2 2022, and moved from a post-tax loss of nearly £2.7 million to a profit of £7.6 million.
Following the acquisition, UKSM’s management team, led by Managing Director Mike Devlin, will remain in place and continue to lead the business as part of the wider group.
