Devoy Hotels has sold off the Queens Hotel, located in Llandudno, Wales, for £3 million.
Located on the famous promenade between the Great Orme and Cymru Conference Centre & Theatre; the property consists of 83 letting rooms, two ballrooms, two restaurants, a public bar, two passenger lifts as well as a car park and patio area.
The sellers, the Devoy family, have run the hotel for the past 36 years or so, and “have built up a very successful business”, Lesley Watmough of Fleurets, the leisure property specialists who marketed the hotel for sale, said.
Gavin Woodhouse, chairman of Northern Powerhouse Developments (NPD), has bought the hotel and plans to continue investing in the business, working with the company's hotel management group Giant Hospitality “to ensure it attracts the next generation of holidaymakers”.
He said: “Northern Powerhouse Developments who also oversaw the £6 million refurbishment of the neighbouring boutique Llandudno Bay Hotel last year, have received huge credit for their sympathetic development of hotels in north Wales and across the UK.”
NPD has also become the owner of two more hotels in the north Wales area - Caer Rhun Hall and the Belmont Hotel.
